Services and timeframes

What is offered, and how long it takes

What services are available?

Three services are available now: psychosocial assessments, psychosocial recovery coaching, and functional cleaning: household cleaning funded under an NDIS plan, or booked privately by anyone.

Positive behaviour support plans are coming soon, developed by a Specialist Behaviour Support practitioner.

Do I need an NDIS plan to book functional cleaning?

No. Functional cleaning is open to anyone.

NDIS participants can have it funded under Core Supports, Assistance with Daily Living. Everyone else books the same service privately and pays directly. No plan, referral or eligibility assessment needed.

Booked privately, functional cleaning is $180 per hour, from $500 per booking.

How long does an assessment take?

From initial contact through the assessment to a written report is usually 2 to 4 weeks. It can be prioritised for urgent plan reviews or access deadlines. Say so when you refer.

How does recovery coaching work?

It is ongoing, usually weekly or fortnightly. The initial recovery plan is normally developed within the first 4 to 8 weeks.

The work involves building a recovery-enabling relationship based on hope and trust, coaching to build skills, motivation, decision-making and resilience, connecting to mental health and community supports, and helping the participant understand and use their NDIS plan effectively.

What does the assessment report cover?

A holistic view of how psychosocial disability impacts daily functioning across the NDIS domains: the person's story and journey, family and village dynamics, triggers, pro-social factors, support systems and strengths.

The written report can support NDIS access requests or plan reviews.

What does it cost?

For NDIS participants, work is charged in line with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Functional cleaning is funded under Core Supports, Assistance with Daily Living.

Booked privately, functional cleaning is $180 per hour, from $500 per booking.

Assessments are charged at the NDIS price limit for Assessment, Recommendation, Therapy or Training supports, Other Professional. Recovery coaching is charged at the NDIS price limit for Psychosocial Recovery Coaching, with the rate depending on the day and time of the support.

Report-writing time is billed separately and is not included in the face-to-face fee. Reasonable travel may be claimed in line with the NDIS provider-travel rules, where the plan and service agreement allow it.

Access and eligibility

Who can be seen, and where

Which plan management types are accepted?

All three: self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed.

Who can make a referral?

Support coordinators, organisations and other providers. Families can also self-refer where the participant is self-managed.

What areas are covered?

Queensland. Regional Queensland is available via telehealth, and a team is currently being built in Mackay.

Is telehealth available?

Yes. An in person first meeting is encouraged wherever possible, at your home or at an agreed location, because it is the best way to build trust from the start. Telehealth is available where distance or circumstances make that difficult, and it is how regional Queensland is supported.

What ages are supported?

People aged 10 and over.

What conditions have you worked with?

Psychosocial disability, mental health conditions, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, dementia, anxiety, autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), trauma and limited mobility. This spans Youth Justice case management, court reports and assessments through to NDIS operations management, compliance and reporting, stakeholder engagement, support team mentoring, oversight and leadership.

Culture, language and privacy

How the work is done

Do you only work with Pacific participants?

No. Restore and Beyond is open to any Pacific community and to all diverse backgrounds. The cultural expertise comes from Samoan heritage and lived experience of the Pacific diaspora, and it is applied to building equity and trust with participants from every background.

What if English is not the participant's first language?

Samoan is spoken. Other Pacific languages can be worked with, and interpreters arranged. Note on the referral form if a translator is required. A tool to assist with Pacific and other diverse languages is currently in development.

Can family be involved?

Yes, and it is often the point. Where family dynamics shape what is happening, the family is invited to share responsibility rather than being treated as background information. Overlooking that is one of the main reasons support doesn't stick.

How is my information handled?

All participant information is treated with strict confidentiality and handled in accordance with privacy requirements. Consent is obtained from the person making the enquiry or referral before any assessment or support proceeds.

Read the full privacy statement.

Is this therapy or counselling?

No. Sia Ropati is a Psychosocial Recovery Coach and Assessor, not an AHPRA-registered psychologist, and does not provide therapy, counselling, diagnosis or medical treatment.

Assessments and recovery coaching are designed to complement, and not replace, clinical treatment or medical care.

How much information should I send with a referral?

The form is short on purpose. The rest is gathered at the initial meeting. That said, as much relevant information as possible at the beginning helps: a clear picture early reduces anxiety for the participant and allows careful planning so they are supported in a calm, respectful and appropriate way.

Please don't attach clinical documents to the web form; it isn't encrypted. A secure method will be provided once the referral is acknowledged.

Please note. Assessments and recovery coaching are designed to complement, and not replace, clinical treatment or medical care.
